El Junto, Inc. ("El Junto," "we," "our," or "us") provides the El Junto mobile application and the website located at www.eljunto.com (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use our Services. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and governed by our Terms of Service.

By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy.

To create an account, we require:

• a name (which may be a pseudonym)
• a unique user handle

By registering, you give El Junto permission to send you service-related emails.

• a profile blurb
• books you have read ("Bookcase")
• your reviews of those books

We collect your mobile device type and identifier to provide app alerts and notifications, which you may manage in your device settings.

Payments: All subscription payments are processed by the app store you use (Apple App Store or Google Play). We do not receive or store your payment card information. We may receive limited transaction details such as payment dates, renewal status, and total amounts. For payment-related data, please refer to Apple's or Google's privacy policies.

We collect certain information automatically through server logs and analytics tools. This includes:

• IP address
• browser type
• device type
• operating system
• referring/exit pages
• date/time stamps
• click and navigation data

This information helps us analyze trends, manage the Services, and understand usage patterns. It is not linked to Personal Information and may be shared in aggregate form.

El Junto is a social app. Your profile and activity are visible to all other users.

Club-Related Visibility (visible to all users)

• Club Charters
• Member Request Prompts
• Basic meeting information (book title, author, section covered, date, time)

• Club Messages
• Discussion Questions

We allow users to block other users. When you block someone:

• They cannot follow you
• They cannot invite you to clubs they are a leader of
• They cannot request to join clubs you are a leader of

However:

• If you and a blocked user are members of the same book club, you will still see each other's posts or activity within that club.
• It is your responsibility to leave the club if you do not want any interaction with a blocked member.

Blocking does not hide information that is already publicly visible to all users.

We use the information we collect to:

• operate and improve the Services
• personalize your experience
• curate your advertisement feed
• analyze usage and trends
• detect and prevent fraud or security issues
• communicate with you about your account and the Services

When you interact with advertisements or click book titles (as an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases), we may collect information about those interactions.

We share Personal Information only when:

• it is reasonably necessary to provide the Services
• you have explicitly allowed it
• we are legally required to do so

We may share information with trusted third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf (such as hosting, analytics, or customer support). These vendors must protect your information to at least the same degree that we do.
